Rev. Daniel M. Harrell, PhD

Interim Senior Pastor

Daniel comes to Plymouth as Interim Senior Minister having served churches over the past 40 years in New Hampshire, Boston, Minneapolis, and as an interim minister in Stillwater, MN, and most recently in San Miguel de Allende. He is ordained in the United Church of Christ (1988). Daniel served a short stint as Editor-in-Chief for Christianity Today magazine, has written numerous articles and books, and taught at various colleges, seminaries and other venues. Mostly retired, aside fro, part time work as a therapist, a chef’s assistant and a beekeeper (and now an interim minister), he strives to live according to Galatians 2:19-20: “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. The life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.”

A Southerner by birth, Daniel hails from North Carolina where he graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill (1983). A New Englander by choice, Daniel moved to Boston for the Red Sox and earned his M.Div. from Gordon-Conwell Seminary (1988) and his PhD in Psychology from Boston College (1993). Having moved to Minnesota by the will of God, he happily does life with Shelley Meadows, his lovely partner of six years, and her three adult children (two in college) and his one (in college). Daniel enjoys cooking, art, travel, cycling, kayaking when he can, and exploring most every aspect of theology and culture.

Rev. Moira McGuinn

Associate Pastor

Pastor Moira is a Miami native who has always called Miami home. She attended Sunset Elementary, Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, Coral Gables High School, and the University of Miami. She earned her Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. These are a few of her favorite things: Philippians 4: 4-9, the sound of our congregation singing together in worship, looking across the Plymouth campus in the afternoon light, the beach, films from the 1930’s, and theatre.

Rev. Hollie K. Schmidt

Associate Pastor

Pastor Hollie joined the staff of Plymouth Congregational Church in August 2023. Before coming to Miami, she spent 17 years serving churches in Lincoln, Nebraska, including First-Plymouth UCC, Crestwood Christian Church, and SouthPointe Christian Church.

At the heart of Hollie’s ministry is a belief that faith is meant to be lived beyond the walls of the church and woven into everyday life. She is passionate about mission and outreach, connecting the church with the wider community, and creating meaningful opportunities for people of all ages to put their faith into action. She also values the relationships that make a church feel like a community where people can connect, serve together, and find a sense of belonging.

Hollie earned a degree in Business Administration from Baker University and a Master of Divinity from Phillips Theological Seminary. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) at Phillips, with a focus on mission and service as expressions of a lived faith. She is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and holds full standing in the United Church of Christ.

Originally from Lawrence, Kansas, Hollie is married to Jody Schmidt, and together they have five grown children. In her free time, she enjoys the beach, traveling, and taking advantage of life in South Florida.
