Where We Serve

Serve With Us

Plymouth Congregational Church serves its neighbors in Coconut Grove and beyond. We distribute meals at homeless shelters, read with elementary school children, restore local homes, collect food donations, offer resume-writing assistance, and take part in other community-building activities. We believe one of the most powerful ways to show our love for one another is through service, and we have found that serving together builds powerful bonds in our church community.

We offer many opportunities to serve through our Board of Outreach and Mission (BOOM), and those new to Plymouth are invited to participate. Sign up for an event or two, and learn more about the organizations we love to support here

Help us make a difference in Miami.

Dinner Service

Once a month, a team of Plymouth volunteers serves dinner at the Chapman Partnership Homeless Assistance Center in Miami, which offers meals and a comprehensive suite of programs and services to assist its residents on the path to self-sufficiency.

Home Rebuilding

A few times each year, Plymouth volunteers gather in Coconut Grove to help paint or refurbish a local home through Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade.

Food Drives

Plymouth members support 200 families with a monthly food collection for the Coconut Grove Crisis Food Pantry. Bring food donations on the third Sunday each month or use the button to donate online.

Reading With Children

Dozens of Plymouth volunteers tutor elementary school children who participate in the annual summer reading camp at nearby Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.

Resumé and Interview Workshops

Volunteers from Plymouth travel to the Caring Place/Miami Rescue Mission center in Overtown to assist residents with resumé-writing and mock interviews.

Christmas Gifts for Children

Plymouth members fill 175 Christmas boxes for children supported by the Family Resource Center of South Florida, which serves more than 2,500 children, adolescents and adults, and provides services that help prevent and treat child abuse and neglect.
