Governance

A signature quality of the Congregational Church is its practice of individual freedom and respect for the covenant between individual, congregation and God. Plymouth’s organizational structure draws from this heritage and it is reflected in our approach to governance.

Plymouth’s Pastors are members of the church and are called by the church to serve. Plymouth’s by-laws define our governance process whereby 10 boards and committees, comprised of 3-20 members each, plan and lead Plymouth’s operating and church life, work and responsibilities.

At our Annual Meeting, held the last Tuesday in January, we set policy, hold elections and finalize budgets. Through the governing of Plymouth, everyone, from our Sr. Pastor to our newest member, has a vote in all matters.

We embrace the Congregational way; this is who we are.
