Hollie grew up in Lawrence, Kansas and holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Baker University and graduated from Phillips Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity. She became an ordained minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and has full standing in the United Church of Christ.
Before coming to Plymouth Congregational Church, Hollie spent 17 years in Lincoln, Nebraska, serving in ministry at First-Plymouth UCC, Crestwood Christian Church and SouthPointe Christian Church. She has extensive experience focusing on youth and family ministry as well as missions. Hollie has been actively involved in mission work in local communities, nationally and internationally, and has led many mission trips helping others have this life-changing experience.
Hollie is married to Jody Schmidt, a native Nebraskan. They have five young adult children with the youngest finishing high school in 2024. When she does have a little down time, she and her husband love to spend time at the beach as well as traveling internationally which allows them to explore and learn about new places and cultures.
